What is the Miss West Duluth Pageant all about?
First and foremost, the Miss West Duluth Pageant is not a beauty pageant!
The goal of the Miss West Duluth Pageant is to reward contestants for their accomplishments in their schools, communities, and churches. The main quality our judges are looking for is ENTHUSIASM!

The Miss West Duluth Pageant was created to provide a positive activity for girls who would like to become more active and involved in their communities, while rewarding each contestant for her accomplisments and her uniqueness. Each year, a Queen and a Princess are selected based on the scoring shown below.

Physical beauty is never a factor in judging the competition. Therefore, our judges look for the beauty within each contestant!

Contestants in the Miss West Duluth Pageant are judged on the following categories:
~A style show featuring contestants modeling casual outfits provided by Tia's Fashions and evening gowns of their own choosing (200 points or 40% of total score)

~A personal interview with our panel of judges (200 points or 40% of total score)

~An essay on the subject, "Why I Would Like to Represent the West Duluth Area as Miss West Duluth" (75 points or 15% of total score)

~A spontaneous question answered onstage the night of the pageant (25 points or 5% of total score)

The Miss West Duluth Pageant also offers the following optional competitions:
~Academic Achievement

~Miss Congeniality

~Most Spirit

~Most Raffle Ticket Sales

~Volunteer Service

~An optional talent show. Talent performances are not judged; the talent show is merely a way for contestants to exihibit their performing talents before a live audience
